Bin Has Grain But Bin-Sense Says Empty
Automatic Grain Level Detection
Ensure Bin Dimensions are Specified
Bin dimensions (Peak Height, Eave Height, Diameter) are required for automatic grain level detection. These can be configured by logging in to the Web Dashboard.
- Login to the Web Dashboard
- While on List View or Map View, click on the pencil icon to edit your bins
- Click on the bin – a Bin Setup pop up will appear
- Specify Peak Height, Eave Height and Diameter
- Alternatively, the bin make and model can be selected and bin dimensions will automatically be populated
- Click Accept
- When done editing bins, click on the SAVE button at the top left corner
- The page will reload
Manual Grain Level
Web Dashboard
- Login to the Web Dashboard
- Select the bin
- Under Bin Details, enable Manual Grain Volume / Bin Capacity by checking the check boxes
- Specify Grain Volume and Bin Capacity
Mobile App
- Login to the Mobile app
- Select the bin
- Under the SUMMARY tab, set Grain Volume in bushel(s) and Bin Capacity in bushel(s) to Manual
- Specify Grain Volume and Bin Capacity
Mark Sensors as Covered
This can be done automatically by the Bin-Sense system. See Automute.
To manually mark sensors as covered (unmuted):
- Login to the Web Dashboard or Mobile app
- Select the bin
- On Bin View, select the highest sensor covered in grain
- Select Cover This Sensor (Web Dashboard) or Set Sensor Covered (Mobile app)
- If you bin is full, select Cover All (Bin is Full)
After making the following changes, it may take one call in (approximately 68 minutes) for bin to update grain levels.
